Petrol, diesel prices slashed by Rs2 per liter

April 30, 2025 (MLN): The federal government has reduced the prices of petroleum products by Rs2 per litre for the upcoming fortnight, according to a press release issued by the Finance Division on Wednesday.

Effective May 1, 2025, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) will be reduced from Rs258.64 to Rs256.64 per liter, while MS (Petrol) will decrease from Rs254.63 to Rs252.63 per liter.

The downward revision comes on the recommendation of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and relevant ministries, as part of the government's fortnightly pricing mechanism based on global oil price trends and exchange rate movements.

Last time, Contrary to expectations, the federal government kept fuel prices unchanged at Rs254.63 per litre for petrol, and high-speed diesel will be Rs258.64 per litre.
