Per Capita Income Falls after Government Releases new Population Numbers

The new population numbers released by the government has clipped the per capita income by almost four percent, said analysts.

The government released the Economic Survey for 2016-17 before the announcement of the Federal Budget for 2017-18 in May this year. According to the economic survey per capita at the time of the release was around $1629 where the population number was at 199 million.

The census figures have been out and population has increased to 207.7 million. Following new statistics, the growth in population has been 2.4 percent which has been good portent. But the population figures has reduced the per capita by 4 percent to $1566.
