PKR decreases by 19 paisa against USD

July 02, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) decreased by 18.97 paisa or 0.07% against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 283.95 per USD, compared to previous closing of 283.76.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 284.2 and a low (ask) of 286.4.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 284.50 for buying and 286.15 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR fell 1.81 rupees or 0.54% against the Euro, closing at 334.47 compared to the previous value of 332.66.

Against the British Pound, PKR decreased by 33.10 paisa or 0.09% to 389.19 compared to 388.86 a day ago.

The local unit weakened 3.13 rupees or 0.88% against Swiss franc to close at 358.46.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value weakened 0.39 paisa or 0.20% to close the session at 1.9739 versus 1.9700 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee fell 1.49 paisa or 0.04% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.62 from 39.60.

The local currency weakened by 5.77 paisa or 0.08% against Saudi Riyal to 75.72. While it deteriorated by 4.01 paisa or 0.05% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 77.31.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has fell against the US Dollar by 18.97 paisa or 0.07%. While it has deteriorated 5.40 rupees or 1.90% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 3bps to 10.85% and 11.10%.
