PCB charts way forward on privatization

December 12, 2024 (MLN): The Privatization Commission Board (PCB) on Wednesday made critical decisions regarding technical matters for ongoing privatization projects.

The meeting was chaired by Federal Minister for Privatization, Board of Investment & Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, according to the press release issued yesterday.

Moreover, appointment of Financial Advisors and other policy matters also came under discussion in this meeting.

Federal Minister for Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan directed to accelerate the pace of work on all privatization projects and complete them quickly with transparency.

He observed that reputable consulting firms should be brought on board for privatization so that this process can be completed in a more efficient manner.

In the 228th meeting of the Privatization Commission Board, under the Chairmanship of Federal Minister and Chairman Privatization Commission Abdul Aleem Khan, the participants approved the proceedings of the last meeting.

Similarly, the privatization of Electricity Distribution Companies "DISCOs" was discussed in detail in the meeting of the Privatization Commission Board.

Federal Minister for Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan directed that a detailed presentation should be held with the Ministry of Power for the privatization of the DISCOs so that the outstanding issues can be resolved in advance.

The Privatization Commission Board meeting also deliberated on the appointment of Finance Advisors for various projects while the Board Members also expressed various suggestions.
