Pakistan’s yearly inflation rises to 13.4% in April

May 01, 2022 (MLN): Pakistan's yearly inflation rate (New Base 2015-16) in April 2022 rose to 13.4 percent compared to 12.7 percent in March 2022 and 11.1 percent in April 2021, according to the latest data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) today.

The July-April average inflation is 11.04 percent compared to 8.62 percent from the corresponding period last year.

April’s reading came slightly above the market expectations that were between 12.3 percent and 13 percent with an average estimate of 12.76 percent.

On a month-on-month basis, it jumped by 1.6 percent in April 2022 as compared to an increase of 0.8 percent in the previous month and an increase of 1.0 percent in April 2021.
