Pakistan, UAE agree to boost cooperation in digital governance

May 02, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have agreed to explore joint opportunities in the areas of digital governance, capacity-building, and artificial intelligence-powered public services.

The understanding was reached during the visit of Pakistan’s Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, to the Department of Government Enablement (DGE) in Abu Dhabi, as per the press release.

During the visit, Ahsan Iqbal held a meeting with Ahmed Tamim Hisham Al Kuttab, Chairman of DGE, where discussions focused on Abu Dhabi’s advancements in applying AI and digital technologies to improve governance and service delivery.

The minister commended the innovative platforms introduced by the department and conveyed Pakistan’s interest in partnering with the DGE to support ongoing reforms in its public sector.
