Pakistan moves to boost trade with Azerbaijan

February 13, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan has taken a major step toward enhancing trade and investment with Azerbaijan by inaugurating the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Islamabad.

The ceremony was graced by Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Privatization, & Communications Abdul Aleem Khan and Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Khazar Farhadov.

Ambassador Khazar Farhadov echoed these sentiments, expressing confidence that the Chamber would help expand the existing $2 billion trade volume between the two nations.

Leaders from the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Chamber also praised the initiative, emphasizing its potential to connect Pakistani businesses with Central Asian markets.

Speaking at the event, Minister Abdul Aleem Khan highlighted the Chamber’s role in providing a unified platform for investment and strengthening bilateral ties, according to the press release.

He emphasized that Pakistan and Azerbaijan share deep-rooted relations and that this initiative would unlock new trade and innovation opportunities.

He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Azerbaijan’s business community and boosting exports.

The event concluded with a ceremonial cake-cutting by Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, marking a new era of economic collaboration between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
