December 05, 2024 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) decreased by 2.17 paisa or 0.01% against the US dollar in Thursday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 277.94 per USD, compared to previous closing of 277.92.
Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 277.95 and a low (ask) of 277.90.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 277.16 for buying and 278.91 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR fell 84.27 paisa or 0.29% against the Euro, closing at 292.98 compared to the previous value of 292.14.
Against the British Pound, PKR decreased by 1.32 rupees or 0.37% to 354.03 compared to 352.71 a day ago.
The local unit deteriorated 91.10 paisa or 0.29% against Swiss franc to close at 314.40.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value decreased 0.79 paisa or 0.43% to close the session at 1.8544 versus 1.8465 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee deteriorated 5.50 paisa or 0.14% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.27 from 38.21.
The local currency decreased by 1.37 paisa or 0.02% against Saudi Riyal to 73.98. While it decreased by 0.49 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 75.67.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 39.67 paisa or 0.14%. While it has rose 3.92 rupees or 1.41% so far this calendar year.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 2bps to 12.32% and 12.57%.
