PKR falls 10 paisa against USD

July 04, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) decreased by 10.40 paisa or 0.04% against the US dollar in Friday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 283.97 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 283.86.
Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 284.10 and a low (ask) of 283.85.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 284.50 for buying and 286.40 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR appreciated 77.17 paisa or 0.23% against the Euro, closing at 334.39 compared to the previous value of 335.16.
Against the British Pound, PKR gained by 7.08 paisa or 0.02% to 388.01 compared to 388.08 a day ago.
The local unit increased 1.02 rupees or 0.28% against Swiss franc to close at 357.75.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value appreciated 0.57 paisa or 0.29% to close the session at 1.9676 versus 1.9733 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee gained 0.43 paisa or 0.01% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.63 from 39.64.
The local currency weakened by 2.78 paisa or 0.04% against Saudi Riyal to 75.72. While it decreased by 2.72 paisa or 0.04% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 77.31.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has decreased against the US Dollar by 20.28 paisa or 0.07%. While it has fell 5.42 rupees or 1.91% so far this calendar year.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates fell by 6bps to 10.76% and 11.01%.
