Pak-China joint venture to unveil first electric car

July 25, 2023 (MLN): The first electric car from Pak-China Huazi Green Energy Pvt Ltd, will be showcased in Islamabad in the next month, according to sources.

Huazi Green Energy Pvt Ltd is a joint venture between Pakistan and China.

Khalid Mehmood, the CEO of Huazi Green Energy Pvt Ltd and Alfalah EV Motors, mentioned that the electric car would offer the convenience of charging from home easily, as per sources

Vehicle assembling plant will be shipped from China in October and the production will begin in November 2023, he further added.

He revealed, “The government has already given us the plot for the vehicle manufacturing factory in Hattar Special Economic Zone, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. We plan to start taking bookings for EVs in January 2024”.

“The project has two phases. In the first phase, we will introduce 2 doors and 4 doors cars. Our electric vehicles are designed for the middle and lower middle class."

These vehicles will have a lithium battery with a 100,000 km or 4 years warranty, he added.

“In the second phase next year, we will launch Mini Pickups and 2 wheelers bikes especially for women.

The 2 doors electric car can run up to 225 km with a single charge. The 4 doors electric car can cover 350 km with one charge”, the CEO stated. 

The Pakistan-China joint venture, worth $5 million, will complete the full technology transfer within two to five years.

The company claims that its products will be exported to various countries and regions, including Europe and Turkey.
