Over Rs.224 million released for Revenue Division projects

The government has so far released Rs224.920 million for various ongoing and new projects of Revenue Division under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the current fiscal year (2018-19).

The government in its Federal PSDP had earmarked Rs2558.950 million for the Revenue Division projects, with foreign exchange component of Rs625.100 million, according to the latest data of Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform.

The government released Rs58 million for development of Integrated Transit Trade Management System (ITTMS) for which an amount of Rs840 million has been allocated in the federal PSDP 2018-19, including foreign aid of Rs550 million.

An amount of Rs30 million have been released for construction of Model Custom Collectorate at Gwadar out of its total allocations of Rs150 million whereas another Rs30 million have been released for construction of Regional Tax Office at Islamabad for which Rs150 have been earmarked in the current PSDP.

The government releasedRs40 million for establishment of Inland Revenue offices in Pakistan out of total allocations of Rs200 whereas an amount of Rs10 million has been released for construction of warehouse for Model Custom Collectorate at Thokar Niaz Baig Lahore out of Rs50 million earmarked for it in the current budget.

Similarly, Rs7 million have been released for construction of office building for Jhang Zone (Inland Revenue), Rs6 million for construction of office for Zonal Office (IR) at Mansehra under CPEC, Rs8 million for construction of international hostel and class room at Directorate of Training and Research Complex Town Lahore whereas Rs6 million have been released for construction of additional office block for Model Customs Collectorate at Hyderabad. 

It is pertinent to mention here that in total the government has released over Rs.33.765 billion under its Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2018-19 for various ongoing and new schemes against the total allocations of Rs.030 billion for the current fiscal year.

The released funds include Rs.21.837 billion for federal ministries and Rs.11.818 billion for special areas.

The Planning Commission of Pakistan follows the specific mechanism for release of funds. During first quarter (July-September) it releases 20 per cent of development funds, in second quarter (October-December) 20 per cent, third quarter (January-March) 30 per cent and fourth quarter (April-June) 30 per cent.
