OGRA conducts field inspections to ensure LPG compliance

July 08, 2023 (MLN): The Oil and Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is carrying out field inspections to ensure that all LPG Marketing Companies comply with the LPG-notified price for the month of July, a latest notice issued by OGRA states.

These inspections aim to monitor and verify adherence to the notified prices at every stage of the LPG distribution process.

“It is essential for all companies operating in the LPG sector to ensure that they are in compliance with the notified price to promote transparency and fair practices in the industry,” the notice reads.

The companies are further directed to prominently mention the cylinder selling rates on the sales invoices while dispatching to distributors.

This step aims to provide transparency and clarity to the distributors and end consumers regarding the pricing of LPG cylinders.

By prominently displaying the selling rates, it will be easier for all stakeholders to understand and verify the pricing structure.

Furthermore, OGRA has reached out to all Provincial Chief Secretaries and Local Administrations, requesting their assistance in ensuring the implementation of notified prices at LPG plants and the premises of LPG distributors.

The collaboration between the regulatory authority and the provincial and local administrations is crucial in maintaining a fair pricing system throughout the supply chain.

Any violations or discrepancies found during the inspections will be dealt with according to the relevant regulations, it added.

The OGRA is committed to promoting a transparent and regulated LPG industry, safeguarding the interests of consumers and maintaining a level playing field for all market participants.
