NHA invites applications for electro-mechanical works of Lowari Tunnel

APP – National Highway Authority (NHA) has invited applications from the eligible National and International firms for pre-qualification of "Electro Mechanical Works of Lowari Tunnel Project" on Design-Build Basis.

The works include tunnel ventilation, lighting system, air quality measurement system, closed circuit telephone system, emergency call, telephone and radio system, public address system and tunnel fittings, traffic management system and toll station, fire detection and firefighting system, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and tele-control system, power generation, emergency power and earthing, E and M portal buildings and associated civil works.

The interested firms can submit pre-qualification applications, prepared in accordance with the instructions provided in the pre-qualification documents by April 23. The pre-qualification applications will be opened on the same day.

It is worth a mention that the NHA has undertaken the project of Lowari Tunnel including two lane road tunnels of 8.5 Km and 1.9 km at an altitude of about 8,000 feet between Dir and Chitral. The civil works of the two tunnels have been completed including concrete lining, ceiling and road.
