Pakistan Meterological Department (PMD) has predicted that the new monsoon spell in the country will begin from July 5.
Met office says that the rain spell can cause flooding in rivers and landsliding in the mountains.
Meanwhile, mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain-thundershowers with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Mirpur Khas divisions, Islamabad, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir in the next 24 hours.
In Lahore, the temperature will rise upto 36-40 degrees whereas scordching heat will envelop the plain areas of Sindh. However; the weather will remain cloudy in Karachiwith rainfall likely in different areas.
Seasonal low lies over northeast Balochistan. Weak monsoon currents are penetrating in eastern parts of the country.
