Net selling by foreign investors rises by 75% over the previous week

According to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan showing the weekly position of Special Convertible Rupee Accounts and Activities (SCRA), foreign investors were seen to be net sellers in the capital markets for the week ending July 13, 2018. 

Foreign investors continue to be net sellers this week as the net sale of securities has been reported at Rs 2.478 Billion against a net selling of Rs 1.416 Billion recorded in the week before, an increase of about 75%.

Closing Balance in the SCRA decreased by Rs 9 Million and was reported at Rs 26.717 Billion against Rs 26.726 Billion last week.

Total Inflows increased to Rs 9.599 Billion against Rs 8.619 Billion last week while total outflows increased to Rs 9.607 Billion from Rs 9.434 Billion in the previous week.

Remittances coming into the country fell by about 8.45% during the week ending July 13, 2018, compared to a decrease of 2.8% in remittances sent out from the country.

Sale of Securities increased by 21% over the previous week after being recorded at Rs 7.947 Billion while the purchase of securities by foreign investors increased by 2.62% after being recorded at Rs 5.469 compared to the week before.
