NEPRA makes a fuel adjustment of Rs 2.23 per unit

NEPRA has approved a cut in power tariff for the billing period of June amounting to Rs 2.23 per unit following a reduction in furnace oil price.

A decision arrived after a hearing held earlier in which it has been asked by the Central Power Purchase Agency to reduce the power tariff in accordance to the furnace oil price. The decision from NEPRA would help power companies to adjust the electricity bills to issue for the month of June which would adjust the bills arriving in August would be deducted.

The fuel adjustment has not been effective for the consumers of K-Electric and the people using less than 300 units.

The adjustment would help reduce the volume of bills for all the consumers amounting to Rs 25 billion.
