The tariff has been reviewed and reduced following the public hearing in which Central Power Purchasing Agency placed a proposal to cut the tariff by Rs 1.70 per unit for the month of July.

The fuel adjustment has been approved and now the bill for the month of September would be reduced by Rs 1.70 per unit. This reduction would take the bill amount of all the consumers barring Kelectric buyers by Rs 20 billion.

The NEPRA approves fuel adjustment charges after power producing companies submit their accounting position in which they show that at what price the furnace oil, high speed diesel, gas and other products consumed to produce electricity and what is the difference of cost of production.
