NEPRA admits grant applications for Generation License of 5 companies

December 13, 2018 (MLN):  National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has admitted the following companies’ applications for grant of Generation License, for their respective Solar and Wind Power Plants:

1. Grid Edge (Private) Limited (GEPL) for Grant of Generation License for Solar Power Plant at Lahore
2. Sino Well (Private) Limited (SWPL) for Grant of Generation license for Wind Power Plant
3. Shafi Energy (Private) Limited (SEPL) for Grant of Generation license for Wind Power Plant
4. Javed Solar Park (Private) Limited (JSPL) for the Grant of Generation license for Solar Power Plant
5. Grid Edge (Private) Limited (GEPL) for Grant of Generation license for Solar Power Plant at Karachi

Given that these companies are granted a license, the electric power generated at GEPL Lahore will be sold to Unilever Walls at Multan road Lahore as its sole consumer, and that generated at GEPL Karachi will be sold to Procter & Gamble (P&G)’s Pakistan Factory, located at Port Qasim, Karachi.

Meanwhile, electric power generated at the facilities of SWPL, SEPL and JSPL will be sold to Central Power Purchasing Agency (Guarantee) Limited.
