NBP's roadmap for SMEs development contributes 40% to GDP: Arif Usmani

May 31, 2019: President National Bank of Pakistan Arif Usmani has said there is no political interference in affairs of the bank and situation is conducive for duty performance at bigger positions.

Addressing a ceremony at the Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he said NBP have prepared a roadmap for Small and Medium Enterprises development that contributed 40 per cent to the GDP.

He said a solid and best strategy would soon set into motion for SME sector development. However, SMEs would have to provide all the required details about their businesses to the bank.

Arif Usmani said it would not be possible for the bank to finance SMEs while they keep their business details hidden.

Speaking on the occasion, President MCCI Muhammad Sarfraz demanded simplifying loan procedure for SMEs.
