September 10, 2024 (MLN): Motorcycles and three-wheeler sales in Pakistan rose 18.02% in August 2024 to 104,234 units compared to 88,318 units sold in the same month of last year, the latest data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) showed today.
Similarly, on a month-on-month basis, the sales were recorded 22.64% higher than the topline of 84,993 in July 2024.
In 2MFY25, sales of the respective category clocked in at 189,227 units, 16.87% higher compared to 161,906 units sold in 2MFY24.
The total production of Motorcycles and three-wheelers in Pakistan was recorded at 107,154 units in August, up 29.69% compared to 82,620 manufactured in the same month last year.
On a monthly basis, the production comparison reflects a similar trend, rising 25.3%. In the previous month, 85,516 Motorcycles and three-wheelers were manufactured in the country.
Honda continued to solidify its position as the dominant industry leader, with sales of 90,483 units in August alone, taking its market share to 86.81%.
The brand's sales figures reflect a growth of 28.79% compared to the previous month, while up 20.53% compared to the topline recorded in August 2023.
The second and third leaders on the list were United Auto Motorcycle and Suzuki, with sales figures of 7,447 and 1,906 units respectively in the review month.
Following closely, Sazgar Three Wheeler sold 1,643 bikes in August, up 1.17% MoM, while 50.87% higher compared to August 2023.
In 2MFY25, Honda's sales were recorded at 160,738 units, compared to 137,083 units sold in 2MFY24.
