Monthly Car Sales for Nov’ 17 vs. Nov’ 16 increase by 7.5%

According to Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association, Total Cars Sales for the month of November ’17, clocked in at 17,233 units against 16,018 at for November ’16. Month on month total car sales increased by 1% totaling at 8,087 in November ’17 against 8,005 in October ’17.

In the 1300 and above cc category, Sales for Honda Cars increased by 3.6% with 3,208 units sold in the local market. Honda has seen a rebirth in its sales during the last few months as its newly launched Civic variant has been much popular with the consumers. In addition to that, month-on-month sales during November 2017 against October, 2017 witnessed a decline as the total units sold fell by 207 units; a 6% decrease in total units sold.

However, on the other hand, Toyota Motors, the biggest rival to Honda in 1300cc category sales have dented in the recent few months. As customers look for better features and shapes, Toyota sales have seen a steep decline. Year-on-year, the total Toyota Corolla Sales decreased by 9.6%. However, sales for Corolla have seen a month-on-month increase of 7.6%, selling 4,537 units in November 2017 against 4,216 units in October 2017.

1000cc category continues to be dominated by Pak Suzuki Motors, Cultus and WagonR continue to remain the favorite among populations as consumers look for cheap and affordable vehicles in the face of increasing oil prices. Sales for the new Cultus Model have been declining at an alarming rate. Sales took a dip in the month of November, falling by around 6.5% (1,363 in Nov ’17 vs. 1,458 in Oct ‘17) against October 2017 sales. WagonR sales for November also fell significantly from 3,478 in Oct ’17 vs 2,116 in Nov ’17.
