May 10, 2023 (MLN): Amidst the political chaos and ongoing vandalism, the authorities have suspended mobile broadband, creating further difficulties for the general public and spurring business losses.

The internet and mobile services started witnessing disruptions and connectivity issues right after the arrest of Chairman PTI on Tuesday.

According to sources in the telecom sector, telecom operators have incurred an estimated revenue loss of Rs820 million, while the government has lost around Rs28mn in tax revenue.

Additionally, individuals who depend on digital apps such as Careem, InDrive, FoodPanda, and others have suffered a significant loss in earnings, while digital payments have come to a standstill.

The country is already suffering from economic and political turmoil and now the suspension of broadband has turned the citizens' lives into hell.

The suspension has caused widespread inconvenience and hardship to the masses mandating immediate attention of the concerned authorities to resume data services.
