Major electronics players to engage with SMEs to supplement their performance

December 19, 2018 (MLN): Adviser to the Prime Minister Abdul Razak Dawood in a recent meeting with Pakistan Electronics Association in Islamabad said that major electronics player will be engaging with SMEs to improve their performance and contribution in the national growth.

A delegation comprising of various companies namely Haier, PEL, Gree, Orient and waves, met the adviser to the Prime Minister to discuss various challenges, performance and potential of the electronics sector in Pakistan.

The delegation informed that Electronic sector is becoming competitive but smuggling is among a threat to the industry. It also requested policy intervention especially the tariff support to make the sector competitive.

Abdul Razak Dawood assured the delegation of the required policy support and shared his vision of making electronics sector an export oriented sector.

"Investment policy would also support the growth of electronics sector” he added.
