Lyari Expressway will bring positive economic, social effects: Businessmen

Rice exporters have welcomed the completion and operation of Lyari Expressway as this will help in maintaining traffic flow in the city, which usually faces traffic jams disrupting the economic and routine activities of the people.

In a joint statement here on Tuesday, Senior Vice Chairman of Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) Rafique Suleman, and former chairman of REAP Abdul Rahim Janoo thanked and felicitated Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on completion of Northern side of Lyari Expressway.

"After completion of this project, a long pending transport management problem of Karachi is resolved. Now, people of Karachi will travel with peace of mind from their residences to the work places and vice versa," they remarked.

As Karachi is the national trading hub of Pakistan, this expressway would bring very positive results for our economy of the country.

This expressway is 38 Kilometer from Mauripur to Sohrab Goth and there are four interchanges at Mauripur, Garden, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Sohrab Goth.

Abdul Rahim Janoo appreciated the Rs. 25 Billion package announced by the Prime Minister for Karachi and hoped that this would be utilized for some more important projects of Karachi.

He urged the federal and provincial governments to complete the undergoing projects of Karachi so that this city could again become the city of lights.

Rafique Suleman also appreciated the efforts of Jawwad Rafique Mali, Chairman of National Highway Authority (NHA) and of Frontier Works Organization (FWO) towards the completion of this very important project.

This project would also help eliminate the issues of law and order and street crimes.
