PKR rises by 10 paisa against USD

July 30, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by 10.15 paisa or 0.04% against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 282.95 per USD, compared to previous closing of 283.05.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 283.05 and a low (ask) of 282.95.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 283.00 for buying and 285.5 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR rose 18.80 paisa or 0.06% against the Euro, closing at 327.01 compared to the previous value of 327.20.

Against the British Pound, PKR deteriorated by 68.52 paisa or 0.18% to 378.19 compared to 377.51 a day ago.

The local unit deteriorated 37.61 paisa or 0.11% against Swiss franc to close at 351.71.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value fell 0.51 paisa or 0.27% to close the session at 1.9113 versus 1.9062 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee strengthened 3.14 paisa or 0.08% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.41 from 39.44.

The local currency gained by 2.91 paisa or 0.04% against Saudi Riyal to 75.43. While it appreciated by 2.87 paisa or 0.04% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 77.03.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 81.21 paisa or 0.29%. While it has deteriorated 4.40 rupees or 1.56% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1bps to 10.58% and 10.83%.
