KSE-100 nears 91,000 as bull run continues

October 28, 2024 (MLN): Pakistan stocks continued their recor­d-breaking rally for the fifth straight session on Monday as improving macroeconomic indicators and expectations of further reduction in the policy rate continued to boost sentiment.

The benchmark KSE-100 Index jumped 815.39 points or 0.91% to 90,809.35 as of 10:15am.

Last week, the index rose 4,744 points or 5.6% to score its biggest weekly gain since December last year.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 12,364 points or 15.76% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 28,358 points or 45.41% so far this calendar year.

During today's session, top gainers were PGLC (+10.75%), FCEPL (+10.00%), ABOT (+6.02%), SAZEW (+5.79%), and KOHC (+4.56%).

On the other hand, top losers were POML (-2.52%), ATLH (-2.00%), FFC (-1.78%), FFBL (-1.64%), and GHGL (-1.63%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were PPL (+128.22pts), UBL (+127.09pts), LUCK (+78.57pts), OGDC (+77.46pts), and EFERT (+65.92pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+255.30pts), Commercial Banks (+222.69pts), Cement (+104.40pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+58.45pts), and Automobile Assembler (+57.69pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index was at 58,074.01 with a net gain of 612.48 points or 1.07%.
