KSE – 100 loses 123.98 points

KSE – 100 index was dominated by bears today after financials dragged the index down by 123 points as it closed on 43705 points at day end. The cement sector, on the other hand, performed relatively stronger amid the institutional buying triggered by price hike by Northern region. manufacturers.

The Index itself volume was up by 37 percent on a day to day basis, as it was dragged down by heavy weight stock such as HBL (-1.6%), ENGRO (-1.2%) and LUCK (-0.6%) which collectively took away more than 80 points of the 123 point decline.

Commercial Banks, Fertilizer, Textile Composite and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies closed the session at the bottom after collectively taking away more than 143.59 points.

Volume traded increased by 37.11 percent during the session after total volume clocked in at 61.299 million versus 44.706 million yesterday.

Sector-wise all share index top ten sector turnover was led by Cement (28.652 million), Chemical (25.922 million), and Engineering (18.783 million) with Technology & Communication (8.468 million) and Automobile Assembler (5.898 million) stocks trailing at the bottom.

KSE - 100 Index at the day end moved a total of -123.98 points down 0.28 percent, closing in at 43705.10 points with index high – low range of 44044.01 – 43660.46.

KSE – All Share Index Volume was at 177.451 million shares, value of shares traded for all-shares index reached PKR 8.081 billion.
