The index succumbed to negative pressures today after Announcement that FATF had put Pakistan on the ‘grey list’ surfaced on the different media channels. However, the Financial Action Task Force is expected to announce the decision later in the day.
Indus Motors despite announcing positive results closed in red as the market’s overall sentiment remained negative. Amidst that, World Bank also barred Pak Elektron (PAEL) after it accused the company of colluding in the bidding process of its projects.
Cement, Fertilizer, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies and Commercial Banks closed the session at the bottom after collectively losing more than 131.74 points.
Volume traded increased by 43% during the session after total volume clocked in at 95.99 million versus 67.41 million yesterday.
Sector-wise all share index turnover was led by Engineering (40.535 million), Technology & Communication (25.710 million), and Chemical (25.345 million) with Tobacco (2.72 thousand) and Woolen (2.5 thousand) stocks trailing at the bottom.
KSE – 100 Index at the day end moved a total of +608.73 points down 0.60%, closing in at 43267.20 points with index high-low range of 43797.11 – 43014.03.
KSE – All Share Index Volume was at 244.148 million shares, value of shares traded for all-shares index reached PKR 10.064 billion
