Index continued on its bullish run today reacting to Amnesty Scheme news which was deemed as to be the “the mother of all amnesty schemes”. The response however turned out be rather lackluster against the market expectations. Index during the early trade got off to a robust start reaching an intraday high of 583 points.
Profit taking ruled the sessions during the day which took the cement, banking amongst others. JSCL +5.39 percent closed at its upper lock after announcing that Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has granted license to its wholly owned subsidiary “JS Fuel (Private) Limited” to establish an oil marketing company.
Volume traded decreased by 20 percent during the session after total volume clocked in at 136.29 million versus 113.54 million yesterday.
Power Generation & Distribution, Chemical and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies closed the session at the top today after collectively adding more than 50 points.
Sector-wise all share index top ten sector turnover was led by Chemical (37.978 million), Cement (32.069 million), and Commercial Banks (25.907 million) with Cable & Electrical Goods (11.492 million) and Textile Composite (9.566 million) stocks trailing at the bottom.
KSE – 100 Index at the day end moved a total of 76.80 points up 0.16 percent, closing in at 46637.62 points with index high – low range of 47144.12 – 46542.82.
KSE – All Share Index Volume was at 247.798 million shares, the value of shares traded for all-shares index reached PKR 14.544 billion.

The index moved in the range of 601.30 points.
