KSE – 100 gains 150 points

After closing red for four consecutive sessions, losing more than 1100 points, the KSE – 100 index today closed the session in green. Index was range bound during the day moving within 223.24 points range. Closing on 40813 points level, KSE – 100 gained +150 points from previous close. Most support to the market came as a result of buying from Insurance and Companies of collective USD 3.6 million during the day.

Commercial Banks, Oil & Gas Exploration Cos., and Fertilizer stocks lent most support to today’s session, adding more than 140 points.  

ENGRO (+1.28%) recovered slightly after remaining under pressure during the last two sessions due to deletion from MSCI’s Pakistan index (standard) and being added to small cap index.

Sector-wise all share index turnover was led by Textile Composite (18.51million), Technology & Communication (11 million), and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (10.473 million) stocks, and with Engineering (4.24 million) and Fertilizer (3.43 million) stocks trailing at the bottom.

KSE-100 Index at the day end moved a total of +150.52 points up by 0.37%, closing in at 40813.31 points. Index Volume was at 51.544 million shares, value of shares traded was PKR 1.979 billion with index high-low range of 40886.03 – 40662.79.

The index movement was limited within the 223.24 points range.

46 companies closed up, whereas 38 were down at the day end.
