Karachi sees improvement in gas pressure: Hammad Azhar

February 07, 2022 (MLN): The citizens of Karachi have started observing dramatic improvement in gas pressures after the operation against illegal pumps and compressors installed in multiple industrial units in Karachi, said Hammad Azhar in a Tweet on Monday.

These illegal pumps not only deprive whole areas of gas but also lead to theft of gas, added.

To recall, the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) had unearthed fifteen large industrial units during the last week, using illegal gas compressors which are used to increase the gas pressure and a fine of Rs300 million had been imposed on one of the industrial units.

Meanwhile, the operation is underway in other areas to prevent this as there would be zero tolerance for gas theft.
