Islamabad High Court has declared the appointment of Tariq Bajwa as the governor State Bank of Pakistan in accordance with the law.

The high court bench has rejected all the petitions filed by 23 senators against the appointment of Tariq Bajwa.

On 20^th January 2018, 23 senators had filed a petition with the Islamabad High Court against the appointment of Tariq Bajwa as the governor of State Bank of Pakistan.

The petition had been made on the grounds that there was “foul play” involved in his appointment and that proper procedure was not followed.
