December 05, 2023 (MLN): Due to the Balochistan government's heightened efforts, the Gwadar International Airport is on the verge of entering its operational phase, caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said in a media briefing in Gwadar today.

Anwaar ul Haq Kakar inaugurated the Pakistan-China Friendship Hospital and a seawater desalination plant in Gwadar and while talking to the media there, he highlighted that more opportunities would be created for the development of Gwadar.

He also emphasized that the completion of the desalination plant will significantly address the water issue in Gwadar city.

Moreover, the electricity issue in the city can be addressed by directly connecting the northern zone with the national grid.

The Prime Minister assured the protection of Chinese nationals in Pakistan. He reaffirmed that the federal and provincial governments, armed forces, and law enforcement agencies will not allow anybody to cause harm to Chinese nationals.

Anwaar ul Haq Kakar was confident that Gwadar would emerge as a hub of industries and trade connectivity as a result of longstanding Pakistan-China friendship.

In his address on the occasion, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong said that they aim to ensure the timely completion of CPEC-related projects.

Caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki also made his remarks that the development of Pakistan is linked with the development of Balochistan.

“Government is committed to the development of Gwadar city and improving the living standard of people,” he added.
