Green Pakistan Initiative plans to utilize more than 100m acres of vacant land

November 15, 2023 (MLN): The Green Pakistan Initiative is working in collaboration with the Government of Pakistan and the Pakistan Army to utilize the vast vacant land in Pakistan, Shahid Nazir, Pakistan Army's Director of Project stated while addressing the Future Summit.

This initiative has commenced its first phase in the Cholistan region, with plans to extend across the nation.

To note, 24 million acres of land in Pakistan is under cultivation and the government has 91 million acres of vacant land.

Shahid Nazir highlighted the suitability of Pakistan's 12 geographical zones for cultivating various crops and emphasized the incorporation of modern agricultural technology through joint ventures.

The Green Pakistan Initiative will involve foreign and local investors, benefit small farmers, and encompass livestock, with the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) providing a streamlined one-window facility for the project.
