December 02, 2024 (MLN): Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Ms Shaza Fatima Khawaja has urged business users and freelancers to continue registering their IPs for uninterrupted VPN access.

She said in a statement that the government is fully conscious of the need for secure communications, and is working towards further smoothening the process of activation and usage of VPN, and till then, the situation will remain as is.

"We strongly urge users to continue registering their IPs through the PTA website", she added.

To note, Pakistan is currently experiencing widespread internet disruptions, leaving users unable to access popular social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

This outage is affecting both individual and business operations.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has yet to clarify the reasons behind the disruptions, creating uncertainty among users.
