Govt to take steps for completing the National Finance Commission Award

Minister for Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs, Asad Umer on Tuesday told the Senate that the newly elected government would be taking steps to complete the process of the National Finance Commission Awards (NFC).

Senator Raza Rabbani said Senate in the past regularly raised the issue of National Finance Commission award.

While speaking at the floor of the Senate regarding the government’s financing dilemmas, Asad said that if his government decides to seek the help of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), it would not be the first time as previously, governments have used this source 12 times.

On prompt communication, he said that the financial situation of the country would be put before the Parliament, the Cabinet and the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Minister for Finance Asad Umer laid before the Senate the third Quarterly report for the year 2017-2018 on the state of the economy.
