Govt keeps petrol price unchanged

November 16, 2024 (MLN): The government has kept the petrol and High Speed Diesel (HSD) prices unchanged for the next fortnight.

Accordingly, the petrol price will remain at Rs248.38 per litre, and HSD will also be sold at Rs255.14 per litre for the next 15 days, according to a Finance Division notification.

The new prices are effective from November 16, 2024.

"The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority has worked out the prices of petroleum products for the next fortnight based on the price trends in the international market during the last two weeks," reads the notification.

It has accordingly been decided that the prices of the petroleum products would remain unchanged during the next fortnight, it added.

To recall, in the last fortnight, the government increased the price of petrol by Rs1.35 a litre to Rs248.38 as Inland Freight Equalization Margin (IFEM) was raised by 112% to Rs7.89 from Rs3.72 per litre.
