December 13, 2023 (MLN): The government anticipates raising approximately $4.5 billion from multilateral and bilateral sources, excluding the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the current fiscal year, Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar said in an interview with the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMA).

For the second quarter, the government expects to receive over $1.6bn from these sources, she said.

Major creditors include the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

These inflows comprise both project-based and program-based funds. Negotiations for some program loans have been completed, and disbursements are expected.
