Gold rises by Rs 500 to Rs 118, 500 per tola

August 24, 2020 (MLN): Gold prices rose by $10 to $1950 per ounce in the international market on Monday, recovering from previous losses as cautious mood improved the demand for the safe-haven asset.

In line with the global markets, the 24-Karat Gold increased by Rs 500 to Rs 118,500 per tola in domestic bullion markets. The precious yellow metal of 24-Karat had closed at Rs 118,000 per tola on the last day.

According to the data released by the All Sindh Saraf Jewellers Association, the price of 10-gram gold also witnessed an increase of Rs 429 to settle at Rs 101,595 against the previous close of Rs 101,166 per-gram.

On a similar note, the silver prices edged higher by Rs 30 to Rs 1,430 per tola. Likewise, the price of 10-gram silver was recorded at Rs 1,226, up by Rs 26 compared to a prior close of Rs 1,200.
