Gold jumps Rs3,800 to hit record Rs308,000 per tola

February 19, 2025 (MLN): Gold prices in Pakistan surged to an all-time high on Wednesday, with 24-karat gold reaching Rs308,000 per tola after a sharp increase of Rs3,800.

Similarly, 24-karat gold per 10-gram was sold at Rs264,060 after a gain of Rs3,258, according to rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

The price of 22-karat gold was also quoted higher at Rs242,063 per 10-gram.

Similarly, silver prices rose in the domestic market, with 24-karat silver being sold at Rs3,440 per tola (+Rs90) and Rs2,949 per 10-gram (+Rs77).

Globally, spot gold traded near $2,945 an ounce, up $11.5 or 0.39% from the previous session.

Gold prices rose as concerns over economic growth, driven by uncertainty surrounding U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff plans, prompted safe-haven flows into bullion.
