Gold inches down by Rs100 in domestic bullion

April 15, 2022 (MLN): The price of 24-karat gold in the domestic bullion market has dropped by Rs100 per tola to Rs130,600 per tola on Friday, the data issued by Karachi Sarafa and Jewellers Association showed.

Domestic gold price touched all-time high level of 134,300 on April 7, 2022.

As per the data, the price of 10-gram of 24k gold also dipped by Rs86 to close at Rs111,968 while the 10gm 22k gold was valued at Rs102,638 compared to Rs102,716reported yesterday.

On the other hand, the price of 24-karat and 10-gram silver remained stagnant at Rs1,520 and Rs1,303, respectively.

In the international market, the demand for the yellow metal was dented by $4 on a strong dollar as hawkish comments from Federal Reserve officials reinforced expectations for faster U.S. policy tightening. Accordingly, the gold was traded at US$1974 against its sale at $1978.
