Gold hits new high of Rs 123,900 per tola

August 4, 2020 (MLN): Gold prices extended gain today to hit new highs of Rs 123,900 per tola, driven by investors hunting safe-haven assets in markets, well above its previous record of Rs 123,800 per tola witnessed on July 27, 2020. 

The price of 24 Karat-Gold increased by Rs 400 to Rs 123,900 per tola in today’s trading session. The valuable yellow metal had closed at Rs 123,500 per tola on the previous day. 

The price of 10-gram gold also resumed its ascent and settled at Rs 106,224 against the previous close of Rs 105,881 per 10-gram.

On the other hand, the 24 Karat- Silver traded flat on Tuesday at Rs 1,500 per tola as traders were watchful during the session. Moreover, 10-gram silver remained steady at Rs 1,286 in domestic markets, as per the Karachi Sarafa Association.

In the international market, the gold rally took a breather as gold prices remained sustained at $1,975 an ounce, while the other precious metal, silver, surged to $ 24.30 per ounce.
