Gold gains Rs1,700 per tola

September 16, 2024 (MLN): Gold kicked off the week on a positive note, with 24-karat gold being sold at Rs268,000 per tola after a gain of Rs1,700.

Globally, spot gold traded near $2,581 an ounce, up $2.2 or 0.08% from the previous session.

The Federal Reserve will begin a crucial pivot this week, lowering interest rates for the first time in more than four years.

The Karachi Sarafa Association reported the price of 24-karat gold at Rs229,767 per 10-gram, up Rs1,458.

Similarly, the price of 22-karat gold was quoted higher at Rs210,620 per 10-gram.

On the other hand, silver prices remained unchanged in the domestic market, with 24-karat silver being sold at Rs2,950 per tola and Rs2,529 per 10-gram.
