Gold extends glitter for fifth successive day

July 21, 2020 (MLN): Gold prices extended gains for the fifth straight day as investors continued to demand for safe-haven asset. The price of 24 Karat-Gold soared by Rs 2,250 to Rs 113,500 per tola in the local market. The valuable yellow metal had closed at Rs 111,250 per tola on the previous trading day. 

According to the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of 10-gram gold also gained by Rs 1,929 to settle at Rs 97,308 against Rs 95,379 on the last trading day.

Similarly, the 24 Karat- Silver also witnessed an increase of Rs 20 to close at Rs 1,120 per tola.  Moreover, 10-gram silver gained Rs 17.15 to amount at Rs 960.22.

In the international market, gold prices reached $1,825 an ounce, up by only $12 while silver was pegged at $20.44 per ounce.
