Gilgit – Skardu Road to be completed in stipulated time

Work on Gilgit – Skardu Road continues in full swing and the project would be completed within the target period, keeping in view its importance and benefits for far-flung areas, said spokesman of Frontier Works Organization (FWO).

Talking to APP, FWO spokesman said that project would be completed within estimated cost of Rs33 billion and it would positively impact development tourism promotion and socio-economic conditions of people residing in remote areas of Gilgit Baltistan.

He said that the five R.C.C bridges were being constructed and after completion it would be possible for tourists to reach Baltistan via road.

He said that the road would also enhance provision of transportation facilities to businessmen – APP
