GB to play key role in CPEC; Chinese development experts told

APP - Secretary Planning and Development, Gilgit - Baltistan Babar Aman Babar on Monday told a delegation of Chinese development experts that the region was blessed with huge natural resources and was capable of playing key role in CPEC.

He was briefing the delegation about rich natural resources including water and the potential blessed with.

The delegation comprising various investors and engineers was told about the Special Economic Zone in details. The secretary shed light on the structural design of the economic zone and the hydropower to be generated along the river.

Secretary Planning and Development spoke in length with development experts sent by Govt of China to assess the potential of all provinces of Pakistan for future cooperation.

Chinese delegation assured that Gilgit Baltistan will vastly be benefitted due to CPEC. Both sides were agreed upon joint ventures in potential areas.

It was further agreed that the two sides would work on Fruit, vegetables, herbs processing, packaging, storage and marketing in presentable form. The participants of the briefing decided to boost tourism sector and carry out joint ventures in minerals’ sector as well as hydro power.

Apart from Special Economic Zone development there was complete agreement in views about transfer of technology.
