Foreign investors dump Rs22.8bn worth of securities

August 16, 2024 (MLN): The net sale of securities for the week ended August 09, 2024 clocked in at Rs22.76bn, as compared to a net sale worth Rs1.07bn recorded last week, data released by State Bank of Pakistan showed.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs35.73bn, which is around 306.44% higher than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs12.98bn, which is 68.08% higher than the prior week, resulting in a net sale of Rs22.76bn for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities increased by Rs5.26bn while the net sale of securities increased by Rs26.94bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs2.16bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs17.78bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs32.77bn, which marks a rise of Rs6.87bn over the week.
