Foreign investors buy significant Rs32.9bn via SCRA

June 07, 2024 (MLN): The net purchase of securities for the week ended May 31, 2024 clocked in at Rs32.89bn, as compared to a net purchase worth Rs20.84bn recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs37.19bn, which is around 125.01% higher than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs70.08bn, which is 87.54% higher than the prior week, resulting in a net purchase of Rs32.89bn for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities increased by Rs32.71bn while the net sale of securities increased by Rs20.66bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs36.86bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs8.88bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs32.98bn, which marks a decline of Rs2.78bn over the week.
