Foreign investors buy another Rs8.64bn via SCRA

May 20, 2024 (MLN): The net purchase of securities for the week ended May 13, 2024 clocked in at Rs8.64bn, as compared to a net purchase worth Rs8.12bn recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs10.66bn, which is around 6.43% lower than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs19.3bn, which is 1.08% lower than the prior week, resulting in a net purchase of Rs8.64bn for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities decreased by Rs210.36m while the net sale of securities decreased by Rs732.71m.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs10.25bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs1.95bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs26.8bn, which marks a rise of Rs73.55m over the week.
