Five major initiatives announced for Islamabad by Interior Minister

May 29, 2024 (MLN): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced five major initiatives to facilitate the citizens of Islamabad, including the establishment of the Capital Emergency Services, Capital Waste Management Company, Capital Safe City Authority, CBD, and Capital WASA.

Mohsin Naqvi gave the special task to Chairman CDA/Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa in this regard.

The Interior Minister said that the purpose of these initiatives is to provide the best possible and speedy services to the citizens of Islamabad.

During his visit, the Interior Minister also met with the staff of Ambulance 1122 and Fire Brigade and urged them to perform their duties diligently and efficiently.

He said that the emergency services, including Ambulance service, Fire Brigade, and Water Rescue Service, will be integrated under the Capital Emergency Services.

Residents can avail emergency services by dialing 1122 in any emergency situation.

A unified emergency control room will be established, and GPS tracking will be used to monitor the movement of vehicles.

Moreover, special attention will be given to the training of staff in this regard.

The Interior Minister also directed the establishment of new stations for Emergency Service 1122 in Islamabad and ordered merit-based recruitment on approved vacant positions.

He stated that the number of ambulances in Islamabad will also be increased.

Chairman CDA/Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, and other officials of Emergency Services were also present on the occasion.
